VisAdvies at Fish Passage 2015

On June 22-24, 2015, the 5th Fish Passage Conference was held in Europe for the first time, in the city of Groningen. More than 500 researchers, educators, practitioners, funders and regulators from across the globe took part to this International Congress to share their knowledge on fish migration.

VisAdvies Ltd. contributed to the Congress as sponsor, exhibitor and presenter. At their exhibition stand, VisAdvies showed innovative techniques for monitoring fish migration. Especially, the "Glass Eel Counter" and the "wireless PIT tag reader device" (complementary device for PIT readers) were popular.

Presentations and Excursion

VisAdvies manager Jan Kemper presented the results of two projects and a pitch presentation about the activities of VisAdvies. One about the " VisAdvies protocol for testing and evaluating pumping station pumps on fish survivability" and the second about "Efficiency measurements as tool in evaluating fishways". Hendry Vis showed at the excursion "From Sea to source" the operation of the PIT Telemetry system which is installed at fish lock Veelerveen.
